My name is Dawn Lane, I am 18 years old. I really like programming but I've also been trying to become more of a generalist.

hobbies

I've been trying to branch out into more fields so I am not as specialised. For example I have been getting into photography, and all of the photos you see on this site were taken and edited by me. Unfortunately I am limited by the amount of data I can upload for this website, so I cannot have a showcase.

I dabble a little bit in textiles work, but nothing big. A few years ago I made a small drawstring bag from some old jeans to hold my archery gear.

Recently I made an embroiderd tailscale logo for a friend who hates tailscale <3. I really enjoyed the process so I'm think I'm going to continue with it. Lots of potential for decorating making my items my own. I find it really really fun to personalise and exert ownership over my stuff. Making something yourself makes you feel so so much more connected to it. I think that is why I also enjoy linux ricing and customisation so much, I love the feeling of ownership and understanding of how something works.

I've also done some 3d printing and I have a fully 3d printed 10" homelab, with modules I designed myself. I made a hard drive case for some hard drive caddies I salvaged from an old promise (brand name) thunderbolt hard drive enclosure. I also made a module for mounting and holding an n150 motherboard I bought from aliexpress before the rampocalypse.
